Big auditorium. 2 hours of wait. Restlessness almost hit its peak looking for the Guest of Honor.
No traces of him yet. Few kids came and performed in a jiffy.
Well, heart wants what it wants. Yes, went for a Concert for a reason and it’s very valid to get excited about the HERO’s entry.
Even the clock got tired on Sunday evening thinking of Monday but as a duty it ticked 9.20pm and there you go. Entire auditorium is dark reminding of eerie night. Audience were quiet for few seconds. And as the lights were on, here I see Sonu Nigam on stage, in one piece, live. Yes, LIVE. Wow, that moment when you see the Singer who has delivered romantic chartbusters that live forever. That fan moment when you see him singing songs which otherwise you have heard, in loops, online or on CDs.
Entire auditorium had filled with energy. There was an enigma through out those 2 hours with astounding key-board, and drums and needless to say, electric guitars that was complimenting the most melodius voice. I realized that those guitars are actually making your blood rush through the nerves and give that adrenaline kick.
Of many songs, he had covered, Sun Zara song from Lucky, Chori Kiya re Jiya from Dabangg, Chill Chill Just Chill from Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya (listing only Salman Khan songs) , and excerpts of Kal Ho Na Ho. He was a game the moment he took over stage. Entertained the audience by singing and fair choice of jokes. He’s a total package. Being in the industry for a long time and doing shows across the world, I am sure he learned the tricks of trade.
Icing on the cake was the entry of Sri Suresh Wadkar to the show. He mesmerized with two of his all time hits – Sapnon me milti hai and Tum se milke songs. I was more excited to see Suresh Wadkar than Sonu Nigam.
Few people introduced Sonu Nigam as Living Legend. I am not sure yet on that title if we have to confer on him. However, few of his songs will certainly be in the list to listen again and again for many generations, just like Kishore Kumar or Rafi songs.
I am glad, I made a decision to go to this concert. I have enjoyed every bit of it and it shall be Klose to my heart for a while ..
