Caption: Reassuring True Love, every second, through out the movie

Savvy’s Rating: 3 / 5

Zephyr: Story, Screenplay and Direction

Brush off:

N/A (As I am reviewing the movie after a long gap of watching it, don’t recollect any)

Savvy’s Rede:

Love is a potion. Love is life. Love is Hope. As long as Love exists in lives, people are actually living. 😉

Story in a nutshell (spoiler alert):

Movie is about a Muslim girl and a Telugu boy and their love saga.

Love blossoms at young age → Hero aspiring to be a athletic Runner → He meets Heroine → Hero is poor; Heroine helps him monetarily → Hero wins Nationals → Heroine disappears → Love story, UnEnded

After 20 years, you see Hero well settled with an adopted a girl but never married still thinking of his first love → Heroine adopted a girl and never married; still thinking of her first love

Subtelity is the flavor of love. Movie has tried their best to show all good memories, best times being in love, understanding the opposite all the times, ignoring simple lies, and finally, reassuring the adage, “if you love someone let them go, it they are yours, they will come back”.

What worked well:

1) Movie is engaging

2) Protagonists did their jobs well

Savvy’s Punch:

If you are in “Love” mood, watch it.

Roy

The Movie: Roy

RoyMoview

Caption: Audience cheated!

Savvy’s Rating: 1 / 5

Zephyr: Songs

Brush off:

One word that comes to mind when I think of Roy is “Confusion”. Entire team has missed the opportunity to convey the message in the movie.

Movie has failed miserably to show the parallel thoughts running through out through direction or screenplay and engage audience. This movie is a very amateurish attempt.

Savvy’s Rede:

Words of Wisdom to Arjun Rampal – please do NOT trick audience. It’s okay if you promote yourself as a main protagonist. Inkaar was the first one and Roy is the second one. Not happy about it.

Story in a nutshell (spoiler alert):

Roy is the parallel cinema of thoughts that run between a writer and a character in his story. Writer is Arjun Rampal and the character is Ranbir Kapoor. Ranbir’s character is more of a Guest role. Entire movie, you are stuck watching Arjun Rampal. 😦

Jacqueline’s dual role didn’t save the grace either.

What worked well:

1) Songs

Savvy’s Punch:

Not recommending!

Temper

The Movie: Temper

Temper_film_poster

Caption: Reality Rush

Savvy’s Rating: 3.25 / 5

Zephyr: Climax

Brush off:

1)  Overdose of violence

2) I totally respect Nandamuri Legacy and Sr. NTR ; however, please do not remind us that in every other movie done by the clan. “Maa thatha temper ….” song

3) Kajol has no significant role

Savvy’s Rede:

I’m one of the well-wishers of Jr.NTR. Although he is blessed with great acting skills, he’s not tasting luck. I could bet on Temper for a hit, but guess what, he couldn’t bag a blockbuster hit but ended as one of the successful movies by fetching ROI.

Puri, the one and only Director, who can happily make swear words as routine keywords with his movie titles or with mannerisms / dialogue delivery by protagonists in his movies. He was eccentric. But, not sure if few maiden failures are pressurizing him to make this kind of movies. I feel like he’s losing midas touch. He needs to be very careful going forward else he’ll fall behind the race.

Story in a nutshell (spoiler alert):

What Temper tells us:

  1. Cons are made at the tender age ; 10 / 11 year old kid talks way more than his age
  2. Signs of early age violence tendency in a pre-teen
  3. An orphan can become a Police Officer by bribing people from stolen money
  4. Item song is more close to vulgarity than anything I could think of
  5. A Police Officer can be a home of bribery and can be more insensitive to emotions as long as he gets money
    1. Crash course on how many ways one can take bribery
  6. How to stalk a girl, read as heroine
  7. Bad manners towards elders .. Ramaprabha scenes…
  8. How comfortably can use offensive words and/or beat up easily in the name of temper
  9. What is torture and how one can show it on a commercial cinema especially involving a girl
  10. How one can always put their voice on a high pitch to gain the edge over others
  11. Finally, a convincing Climax dialogues from Hero’s mouth

It’s Point # 10 that won him brownie points. Rest of the movie, Jr. NTR looked restless and all the times his voice was at his peak.

Personally, thought this movie is under-opportunity for Jr. NTR’s capacity. With sister sentiment, he could win females’ hearts.

What worked well:

1) Climax dialogue delivery by Jr. NTR

Savvy’s Punch:

Very neutral. Use your discretion to watch.
